George Soper Children at the Farm Pencil on Paper Frame: 6.75” x 8.5” Image: 3.25” x 4.5” Provenance: Bonhams’s Soper Studio Sale 1992 George Soper was born in May 1870. He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy (48 works) and elected a full member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1920, with whom he exhibited 80 works. He exhibited widely at many of the principle London and provincial galleries of his day.He died at Harmer Green, Welwyn on 13 August 1942. Both the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, hold examples of his work in their collections.
