Eileen Soper - Missel Thrush
SOLD
Eileen Soper RMS SWLA Missel Thrush Watercolour Provenance: this comes from the 1992 Bonhams sale, and is so stamped on the reverse. Image: 22” x 15” Frame: 27” x 22” Eileen Soper (1905 - 1990) was the daughter of the artist George Soper. In 1921, at the age of 15, she became one of the youngest artists ever to exhibit at the Royal Academy. Later, she was commissioned to illustrate many of Enid Blyton’s books, including the Famous Five series. This beautiful watercolour is a more private, and, perhaps, a better example of her talents.
